Dr. Dennis R. McGee and Dr. Colin E. Poole are Idaho's only Fellowship Trained joint replacement specialists. They bring knowledge and expertise in total hip and total knee replacement usually reserved for University centers. Dr. McGee and Dr. Poole treat patients with painful hips and knees that have been damaged by arthritis, trauma, or infection. Initial consultation will include a detailed history and physical exam as well as Xray studies. They are also involved in cutting edge research and on occasion, patients are asked to enroll in research projects. Dr. Dennis McGee is specialty trained in the use of the minimally invasive "UnispacerTM Knee System". Developed by "Centerpulse," the Unispacer offers an innovative new treatment for patients with early stages of osteoarthritis of the knee. The technique is less disruptive to the patient's anatomy then joint replacement. In the technique, Dr. McGee inserts a small lightweight, metallic spacer in the knee instead of cutting the bone and replacing the whole joint.
