Intermountain Infusion Center is located in the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital on Fort Street in downtown Boise, Idaho. The Center treats patients of Intermountain Orthopaedics as well as patients referred to the Center by physicians in our community.

The Infusion Center is an outpatient facility serving those who require intravenous medication for the treatment of Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis. A registered nurse, specifically trained in infusion therapy, staffs Intermountain Infusion Center. Our nurse works one-on-one with each patient to insure their comfort and answer any questions they may have.

Remicade® is the medication currently used at the Infusion Center. Because this medication is non-sedating, patients are able to drive home immediately following their infusion. The process of infusion can take anywhere from one to several hours, and is performed in a comfortable and relaxed setting.

Although Remicade is the only medication being used at the Intermountain Infusion Center at this time, new medications will be available in the near future to treat rheumatic diseases. Physicians are welcome to contact the Infusion Center to learn more about starting patients on Remicade, or changing current Infusion patients to a new medication.

Remicade is a covered benefit for most insurance companies. However, for Medicare and those carriers who do not provide coverage, financial assistance is available based on specific financial eligibility criteria. To learn more, contact the Reimbursement Hotline and ask for the patient assistance program: 1-800-964-8345.

Please talk to your doctor, or schedule a visit with one of our rheumatology specialists, Drs. Patrick Knibbe and James Loveless, if you would like to learn more.
